My first post...

I was going to wait until I had something really great to write about for my very first blog post, but then I realized that everything is really great right now. I am not stressed about the wedding because things seem to be falling into place quite well (keep your fingers crossed), work is relatively slow (which is extremely abnormal, but a very nice break), Brandon seems to be doing really well with his job (which eliminates a lot of stress), and I got promoted!

Before I go tooting my own horn, I am going to be brutally honest.... everyone at my level pretty much gets promoted, so I guess it isn't as big of a deal as it sounds, but it eliminates any thought that I may be a total failure I guess... I am always trying to look at the bright side of things :). Obviously, what I am most concerned/anxious to hear about is my pay increase, but that won't be coming until next week unfortunately... so if I sound a bit bitter in any upcoming blogs from next week I may be slightly disappointed, OR, if I sound oddly peppy I may have been pleasantly surprised. We shall see....

As far as wedding status goes...

Dress - check (1st and easiest wedding task accomplished)
Photographer - check
Officiant - check
Venue - check
DJ - check
Flowers - check
Day of Coordinator - check
Cake - check
Invitations - check
Favors - check

Although I may have a lot of little things left to do, I feel somewhat accomplished. I wanted to reveal my new wedding best friend though.... Etsy. I know that most people know of Etsy (I guess I was a little late to jump on the band wagon), but I have accomplished so much through Etsy. I ordered my beautiful Engagement Invitations and Wedding Save-the-Dates from 4 Leaf Boutique , and was able to find my amazing favors at ilLUMIEnate. I am obsessed with the garters from The Garter Girl (I would have already purchased one, however, my mother instructed me to STOP buying things for myself.... Oops).
I have also gotten great ideas that I realize I can totally make myself through a little bit of Etsy browsing. Needless to say, I am now a total Etsy fan!!

Here are a few pictures of the wonderful items created by my various Etsy sellers....

The Garter Girl

Like I said... my mom put a stop to anymore wedding purchases for myself :( If this hadnt have happened, I would definitely own a garter similar to the one below (but in my wedding colors of course)

Hope you all enjoyed my very first blog... hopefully there will be more exciting posts in the future!
